My Art
Currently, I am taking photographs and manipulating them into mixed media pieces- and I'm taking a break from canvas paintings unless I am commissioned. I feel another evolution on its way and will return to larger acrylic works soon- just want to wrap my head around the immediacy of snapshots and embracing the image. I've also been experimenting with encaustic wax and embossing powder to build texture.

My Experience
After receiving a scholarship to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio, I was awarded a BFA in Painting and Art Therapy in 1996. Since then I have had many commissions and solo exhibitions in the US. While serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho, Southern Africa , I created a sixty foot mural permanently displayed at a major tourist center.
In 2007, I started an organization called Art/Engage LLC which provides art appreciation programs for adults with cognitive disabilities, especially seniors with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Currently, my contractors and I work in group homes in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The website is www.artengage.org. Outside of work, I paint commissions upon request.
